Mr. Smeester is a former financial service industry executive with over 15 years of general, human resources and operations leadership experience. For several years he was Managing Partner of Career Quotient, a consulting and retained search firm serving the healthcare industry. His background includes 12 years with Old Kent Financial Corporation (now part of Fifth Third Financial Corp.); a $20 Billion Grand Rapids, Michigan-based banking and financial services firm. His assignments at Old Kent included serving as Senior Vice President and Manager of Corporate Operations and also as Vice President and Director of Human Resources for Old Kent Bank. Mr. Smeester has several years of experience in the recruitment of managerial and senior level executives. He received his Masters Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from the University of Wisconsin and Bachelors degrees in Business Administration and Psychology from St. Norbert College in Wisconsin. Chuck has been actively involved in the West Michigan community, serving in a variety of committee and leadership roles with both Heart of West Michigan United Way and Junior Achievement of West Michigan. In his board roles, he has facilitated and led searches for new staff members, up to and including the chief executive level. Mr. Smeester handles executive search engagements and oversees all Grand Rapids management and executive search assignments.
